History and Profile
In the beginning EEB was called UEB (Union of baptiste churches) after that EB (Baptiste Church) followed by EBO (Baptiste church in the west). EEB is situated in the western parts of the Central Africain Republic, more precisely in the area Sangha-Mbaere, the Mambere-Kadeï and the Nana-Mambere.
The church was founded by the swedish mission in Örebro, which arrived from Congo to the region in 1923. The first church was founded in 1925 when a young Gbaya, nine years old, was babtized.
In the beginning, the missionaries started schools and a health center. Between 1924 and 1955 nine missionary stations were established in: Bilolo, Bania, Nola, Carnot, Douaka, Berberati, Gamboula, Bouar and Baoro.
The change of the name to EEB was made after a decision that EEB should work to expand to other parts of RCA.
